Description
Situated in the heart of the Karoo, next to the Buffalo River, between Laingsburg and Ladismith, and enroute to Seweweekspoort, lies the peaceful, unique and fully contained self catering lodge Wagendrift. Although one is surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature and its abounds, the choices still remains whether you would like to pass time by leisurely taking a bush walk and doing some bird watching, or getting the adrenalin rush of doing something more physical such as swimming, mountain biking, motorcycle trails or exploring the 4x4 routes. Wagendrift Lodge is also ideally suited for teambuilding exercises, hosting a spacious conference centre and entertainment area, as well as comfortable sleeping facilities for up to 22 people including 10 additional camping sites
Three identical cottages with comfortable accommodation for 4 people. Each cottage has its own bathroom as well as a shared braai facility and entertainment area, overlooking an amazing mountain view. Each cottage has its own veranda where you can sit back and relax, watch the sunset over the mountains, and enjoy the wildly sounds of nature.
The main stone lodge has 5 comfortable bedrooms consisting of 2 single beds per room. The main lodge also has a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor braai facility. Here you can wake up peacefully, get your first cup of coffee and get back into bed to absorb the surrounding nature views. At night time, you can leave the curtains open for a breathtaking view of the night sky's jewels.
A large, clean and refreshing swimming pool can be used to cool off during hot summers. Beautifully lit up at night!
Braai facilities are available for both the main lodge and cottages.
Our shared kitchen and entertainment areas are fully equipped and spacious.

Attractions
We have the following trails available for our guest, with a complete map with GPS points to help yourself find your way. These trails are in the game camp where you will be able to view Zebra, Klipspringers, Duiker, Baboon and even Kudu in the early evening. We also have a great variety of birdlife:
Mountain bike trails: select your own course from easy riding to difficult
4x4 and Quad bike trails for the beginner to the more seasoned.
Walking trails and Bird Watching
Golf at the Laingsburg golf course 30km away.
Apart from the various activities such as bird watching, hiking and mountain bike trails, motorcycle and 4x4 routes, and team building activities, the farm also has some zebra’s and very rare flora. Very recently a very rare species of aloe plants (Haworthias marxii) was re-discovered and named after Mr Gerhard Marx. There are currently only 2 localities known where this species is found, the first being Drielingskloof, where about 30 plants can be found in the cracks of a small hill and the second population being a small family of 9 plants found on Wagendrift Farm. These plants are of the most difficult Haworthias to recognise as one might easily walk right over it without noticing it. They grow very deep and are hidden underneath dead leaves and small Rhinobush twigs as well as in between rock cracks.

Directions
Directions to Wagendrift Lodge From Laingsburg:
Turn right at the Ladismith/Anysberg sign (Standard Bank).
Follow the road for +/-28 km and turn right into Wagendrift (If you reach the gravel road you must turn back 1km).
Follow the farm road for 2km to reach the farm (the farm road splits, keep left).
Directions to Wagendrift Lodge From Ladismith:
Turn right and head for Calitzdorp.
After Zoar turn left at the Seweweekspoort sign Continue for 55 km through the Poort.
When you reach the tar road, 1km to your left turn into Wagendrift.
Follow the farm road for 2km to reach the farm (the farm road splits, keep left).
Directions to Wagendrift Lodge From Oudtshoorn:
Head for Calitzdorp, Drive through Calitzdorp towards Ladismith.
Drive through the Huis River Pass.
Pass the Opsoek sign and Amalienstein sign.
Turn right at the Seweweekspoort sign.
Continue for 55 km through the Poort.
When you reach the tar road, 1km to your left turn into Wagendrift.
Follow the farm road for 2km to reach the farm (the farm road splits, keep left).
