This magnificent sandstone, 4-bedroomed, serviced self-catering house in Clarens is a place of beauty, with breathtaking vistas of the Maluti Mountains. It can easily accommodate 8 people.
Accommodation in "The View" consists of 4 luxury bedrooms, each with their own character, from African to Contemporary to French Provence. The main bedroom has a full en-suite with a four-poster bed and patio doors that open into the garden, while the twin room and queen room share a full bathroom. The forth is a self contained garden studio that has an entrance into the house or from the garden. Luxury white, 100% cotton bedding and towels are supplied together with heated blankets. The main bedroom has a safe for your valuables.
In the summer, take an exhilarating hike and explore the great outdoors, or visit the scenic village of Clarens. The garden of the "The View" is described by local residents to be one of the best in Clarens. The extensive plant life and pond attract a large variety of birds and is therefore ideal for bird watching in the Eastern Free State/Natal. You can braai/barbeque or enjoy the covered patio while appreciating the breathtaking views from the garden.
If it's too chilly to sit outside, stay warm and cosy inside with under floor heating, wall mounted heaters and a gas fire, while still being able to enjoy the mountain views. You can also unwind by watching premium DSTV or bring your favourite DVDs which can be played through the home theatre centre with surround sound in the loft room, which overlooks the open plan living area downstairs. The spacious, comfortable lounge/dining area has large windows and patio doors allowing the sunlight to enhance the ambiance.
When you do not want to eat out at one of the varied restaurants in the area the kitchens are well equipped. The utensils, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery are all of a high quality. The main house has a dishwasher, microwave, large electric stove and a full upright fridge. A chest-freezer is available for use in the automated double garage. The laundry has a top-loader automatic washing machine and there is also a tumble dryer, if this is not for you then it can be arranged for a professional laundry service in Clarens to provide this service, cost on request.
As most visitors to Clarens want to get away from their hectic lifestyles and relax, the accommodation in "The View" is serviced on a daily basis.
“The View” has a no smoking policy although ashtrays are supplied for use outside.

MAIN HOUSE (accommodates 6 guests or combined with garden studio, which has direct access to the house, can accommodate 8 guests). ZAR 350.00 pp to ZAR 450.00 pp per night Children under 12 – ZAR 250.00 per night (There is a minimum charge of ZAR 1400.00 per night).
GARDEN STUDIO (accommodates 2 guests) – A standard rate of ZAR 550.00 to ZAR 650.00 per night
On weekends, a minimum 2 nights booking is required and on long weekends/public holidays, a minimum of 3 nights is required
Check in time is 14:00 and check out time 10:00.
Special Offer: Mid-week get-a-way until 1st December 2011, book and pay for 2 nights and get 3rd night free. (Not applicable over public holidays and long weekends).
Payment Method A 50% deposit will be required upon confirmation of booking and the balance paid at the latest 2 days prior to arrival. All payments must be by electronic transfer and proof of payment must be faxed to 0866562837. In case of non-arrival, you will be charged 100% of your total reservation. Units are reserved until 17h00 unless previously arranged. The deposit is only fully refundable if the reservation is cancelled 28 days prior to arrival. Cancellation policy 0-7 days before forfeit full deposit, 7-14 days before forfeit 75% of deposit, 14-21 days before forfeit 50% of the deposit 21-28 days forfeit 25% of the deposit. Child and Pet Policy Children are welcome. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. (Please note that there is a pond on the property so children and pets should be water safe).

There are numerous art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, and shops of interest in Clarens.
If you enjoy out door activities there is something for everyone to enjoy from hikes and walks, golf, river rafting, horse riding, trout fishing, 4x4 trails, quad biking, bird watching, and dinosaur trails.
If you are not feeling quite so active there are spas to beautify and relax in. Art course for beginners to advanced. Interesting shops to explore. There is often live music in many of the village establishments.
Golden Gate National Park is a short drive from Clarens; here you can see zebra, baboons, and many various types of antelope together with various breeds of birds including vultures
Clarens and the nearby towns have a rich history to explore, with numerous historical sites

Directions
From JHB: Take N3 Heidelberg/Durban. Take Frankfort/Villiers off ramp just after Engen One Stop. Turn right and continue on R26 past Villiers towards Frankfort. At T-junction turn right. Continue over Wilge River and shortly thereafter take slip road to the left (towards Reitz). Continue straight until Bethlehem. Go through Bethlehem and about 5 km after Bethlehem (on the road to Harrismith), turn left (R712) towards Clarens.
