Description
Penny Farthing is a family home situated on an extensive beef and game farm set in a large garden with over 200 bird and 14 game species.
Furnished with antique furniture, we have a large lounge with satellite television and numerous Battlefield videos, as well as an Africana library.
All bedrooms are en suite, with fans, electric blankets, tea and coffee making facility, wall to wall carpeting, alarm clock/radio and double doors leading into our beautiful garden.
The Stables section of Penny Farthing is specially fitted for self-catering.
GHASA Special: We offer 15% discount on accommodation rates during June, July and August if you quote GHASA when making your reservation!

We are central to most battlefields. Your host is a registered guide and is passionate about the battlefields. He has a good knowledge about the cultures of the people involved. The Talana museum is nearby. There are also wonderful hikes and walks.
Fishing, boating and self catering are optional on the farm.

Directions
From Johannesburg take N3 to Free State border and turn of at Warden/Frankfort sign and travel to Newcastle, Dannhauser & Dundee and take R 33 towards Greytown for 30 km. Turn right at Large Penny Farthing sign. From Durban take N3 to Pietermaritzburg and turn off onto R33 at Church Street/Greytown turn off-ramp. Travel to Greytown. Tugela Ferry, Pomeroy and 25 km past Pomeroy You will see our large sign Penny Farthing. Travel for 2 km on the Farm road.
