Description
Hawksmoor House is a Cape Dutch country retreat located on a 220 hectare wine farm, Matjieskuil, near Stellenbosch. Meticulously restored and beautifully decorated with exquisite antiques, it occupies a stunning location amidst vineyards overlooking Table Mountain and enjoys spectacular sunsets.
Conveniently located a mere 25 minutes drive away from the buzzing Cape Town centre, the estate is quiet and serene. In addition to our guests, the farm is home to horses, cows, porcupines, hawks, herons, pelicans and countless other wildlife. Our resident German Pointers Cosmo & Max keep a watchful eye on the daily workings of the farm.
Hawksmoor House is the perfect place to unwind and let the day slowly go by, lie by the pool with a good book and enjoy a glass of our own fabulous Hawksmoor wine. It also serves as a great base to explore the Winelands. Our friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background, providing you with the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself and allowing you to relax in absolute peace and quiet.

Take a bike ride across our beautiful vineyards, a refreshing dip in our pool overlooking Table Mountain, or taste our fabulous Hawksmoor wine. If a pampering is what you are after, you can also enjoy a relaxing massage. Stellenbosch and Paarl with their many great restaurants and vineyards, are a short drive away. Buzzing Cape Town with its countless attractions (Table Mountain, Robben Island, V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay, Constantia etc) is only a 25 minutes drive away and so is picturesque Franschhoek, South Africa’s “food capital”.

Directions
From Cape Town International Airport, first take the N2 towards Somerset West, then take the R300 turn-off which joins the N1, direction Paarl. Take exit 39 (Stellenbosch/Klipheuwel) and follow the R304 direction Klipheuwel. Within 1km you will go past the “Tygerberg Zoo” sign on your left and after another 500 m, you will see a dirt road on your left with a small sign saying “Matjieskuil Farm”. Follow the gravel driveway until you reach the entrance gate.
From Cape Town or Paarl, take the N1, then take exit 39 and follow directions as above.
From Stellenbosch, follow the R304 in direction N1/Klipheuwel and cross the N1. Within 1km you will go past the “Tygerberg Zoo” sign on your left and after another 500m, you will see a dirt road on your left with a small sign saying “Matjieskuil Farm”. Follow the gravel driveway until you reach the entrance gate.
