GUEST HOUSE MANAGER
I have 8 years extensive experience in the Hospitality Trade managing Guest Houses and B&B's. I am presently managing a 10 bedroom B&B in Knysna. I am fully bilingual, English and Afrikaans.
All my reports are on QuickBooks which I do, and bookings and analysis are on Semper System. About 80% of my clientele are International visitors and as I do not have an Assistant except for my husband, I am on duty 24 hours, 7 days a week. I have glowing feedback from my guests whom often return or recommend our guest House to acquaintances overseas.
My husband is a highly Technical person and is very hands-on and held a senior Technical Management position in Cape Town but when I was headhunted while staying in Cape Town, to come to Knysna, he resigned to come up to Knysna with me and the only position he could get was to manage a large Garden Service as there is no real Industry in Knysna and he gained a lot of knowledge and know-how, in gardening.
One of the main reasons that we are looking to relocate back to the Cape area, is that I would like to be closer to my daughter who is a night Editor for The Burger and I feel that the family is important and I do not have much contact staying so far away.
