Directions
A motor vehicle is essential.
SA Airlink flies to Phalaborwa twice daily from Johannesburg.
Phalaborwa airport, all of some 6 minutes away from Avuxeni Lodge, has several car rental company outlets.
By road, from Johannesburg/Pretoria (4½-5 hours) head East on the N12/N4. Turn left/north to Belfast, thence by way of Dullstroom and Lydenburg, on to the R71 eastwards. In Phalaborwa at the first intersection, a 4-way STOP, go straight across. At the second intersection, traffic lights, go straight across.
At the third intersection, a 4-way intersection with traffic lights, turn right/south keeping the TOTAL filling station on your right and the SPAR complex on your left.
At the first 4-way STOP go straight across. At the second 4-way STOP, take the glide off to the left/east which leads directly to the entrance to the Hans Merensky Estate.
