Basse Provence Guest House is a four star elegant retreat, nestled in the Franschhoek valley. The 300 yr old Oak trees, expanses of vines and unsurpassed views offer tranquility and luxury to our guests.
Although built in the 1800’s, the Manor House has been totally refurbished to reflect a fine blend of traditional Huguenot heritage and true cape culture, offering our guests serenity and calm that only country hospitality can.
We take great pride in our hospitality and we think it shows in our warm, welcoming rooms.
Basse Provence has a total of 8 spacious, tastefully decorated en-suite rooms all fully equipped with mini-bars, tea/coffee making facilities, DSTV and air-conditioning. Our Manor suite and Elizabeth suite have the privacy of their own entrance.
The country house consists of 4 bedrooms on 2 floors. The upstairs rooms are under the thatch and poplar beams traditional of Cape Dutch style.
The recently refurbished Manor House boasts 3 beautiful rooms built in 1855.
Every room has en-suite bathroom and separate showers. The views from all the rooms are simply stunning and look out onto the vineyards and the Franschhoek valley.
Basse Provence is proud to add a new, superbly refurbished two bedroom cottage with spacious en-suite facilities and adjoining lounge. The cottage offers a large terrace and private garden and full use of the guesthouse pool and services..
Guests can enjoy a full breakfast or drinks from our honesty bar out on our extensive lawns. Basse Provence offers a beautiful pool area under the mountains and adjacent to vineyards.
A swimming pool is available for those hot summer afternoons. Should you wish to spend a relaxing day on the farm, we have croquet on the front lawn, boules under the oak trees and a walk down to the river to a picnic site on the riverbank.
Directions will be supplied on request.
