The Mount Everest game farm covers approximately 1000 hectares and consists of mountains, kloofs and rolling grassland, a perfect setting for the 22+ species of game established on the farm. It is also a working sheepfarm and home to a lively family of six.
Among the species on the farm are blesbuck, springbuck, the rare lechwe, mountain deer, ribbok, waterbuck, blue wildebeest, black wildebeest, zebra, ostrich, steenbok, duiker, rietbuck, rooikat (caracle), meerkat and also a "dassie" colony.
The very rare reptile called "ouvolk" also thrives on part of the farm. There is also a wide variety of birds.
The game can be viewed from the comfort of your chalet, from the game drive vehicle, quad bike, hiking or cycling.
The farm is located 20 kilometres from Harrismith and 17 kilometres off the N3 highway between Johannesburg and Durban, which makes it the perfect stopover to start your holiday.
Accommodation is available in our swiss style chalets, rondawels or camping in the caravan park. We also provide beautiful venues for weddings, conferences, team building activities, or any other functions.
Set in the very scenic Eastern Free State, it is close to the Golden Gate National Park, Clarens, the Drakensberg, the Midlands Meander and the Sterkfontein Dam. The closeby town of Harrismith annually hosts events like the Dirty Harry Mountain Bike race, the Berg, the Sterkfontein Dam swim etc.
On the N3 just north of Harrismith, take the R722 Verkykerskop road east (right from DBN, left from JNB). Continue for 13 kms. Take the S1204 to the right. Continue for 5 kms, Mount Everest is to your right.
